Angie Baker

Passionate. Masterful.

Angie Baker is an experienced dance instructor in Charleston, SC with three decades of teaching all ages, and has a noted ability to differentiate lessons for all students. The director of Holy City Hotfoot and Junior Hotfoot, she is a certified instructor and is highly qualified to teach almost every style of studio dance. After selling a successful dance studio in 2017, she now carries her talent, expertise, and energy into classrooms across the Charleston area. Her students have won countless awards in dance competitions, and her studio was awarded the ADCC’s 2015 “Studio of Excellence”. She has been a master guest instructor for SC Dance Association, DanceMasters of America, Columbia Conservatory (school of Columbia City Ballet), Charleston School of the Arts, Wando High School, and more. She is currently on staff at Palmetto City Ballet school as the tap instructor, and also teaches a variety of classes through the City of Charleston and the City of Goose Creek.

Non-traditional.

Angie also teaches non-traditional classes through FEELanthropi Integrative Arts, for specially-abled dancers, and those with movement and memory challenges. She is the Unified Dance instructor for the City of Charleston, Town of Mount Pleasant, and Laing Middle School. Her program has been hosted by Camp Wonder, the Special Olympics Area 6, and Charleston Moving Day for Parkinson’s. Angie has developed programs in many local senior centers and assisted living residences. She teaches Move for Parkinson’s in Charleston and Columbia.

Experienced.

In addition to offering guest and master classes, she is also a dance instructor at Palmetto City Ballet, Charleston’s professional ballet company in Mt Pleasant. She offers dance and musical theater classes for the City of Charleston recreation department, and her classes generally have a waitlist. Angie continues to learn through the industry’s top seminars, festivals, and workshops.
